In the beginning...

Brian recommends dog treats started, as many serendipitous things do, from a collision of need, want and availability! I was working from home (we all remember those strange times when we weren’t used to such a strange phenomenon) with a small puppy. I quickly found that I enjoyed using my nutritional/foodie background to create treats for Brian much more that I enjoyed my at home Customer Service role. I had been using my sign-writing skills to help out a couple of local Artisan Markets with their signage and they, in turn, helped me out with a free pitch to trial some stuff. After a lot of research, Council permissions and going through the lengthy process of approval from the Animal & Plant Health Agency, we had a lovely little market stall which takes us all across London and beyond, meeting lovely dogs wherever we go. Fast forward a few years and we still enjoy getting out to meet our customers but we also sell our products online so that dogs all across the UK can try them too!

Favourite treats...

I am often asked ‘What is the best treat?’ Which is a very hard question to answer, I guess the best treat is the one your dog is most drawn to, especially if it is healthy too. Our treats are all very high meat content, free of all nasties -no wheat, fillers or additives. Chosen with care by us and in the case of liver products, hand made by us using top grade, Restaurant quality meat. Each week I make the trip across London in the middle of the night to visit Smithfield Market. It is truly a special place 🙂 They only open between midnight and 6am and cater to the top restaurants. They sell MEAT, big portions of gory bloody meat! There are dozens of big men in white coats covered in red splatter, quite the sight! I buy A LOT of liver and get it home by 6am to start processing it. I’m going to focus on the beef liver today, just because I find it amazing that I can buy the livers of 4 to 6 cows and the details on each bag tell me exactly which farm they come from and when they went to the abattoir. It is always within the past couple of days, so I know that the liver I am hand slicing and dehydrating for your dogs to enjoy was running around a field in Ireland last week. Oh and that is it by the way, the liver is hand sliced and dehydrated, there are no additives at all, 100% beef...delicious!
